National Festival of Breads
The third National Festival of Breads baking contest will be held in Manhattan, Kansas, next summer. Enter your original yeast bread recipe and compete for a number of prizes, including a cash prize of $2,000 and all-expense-paid trip to Vermont. The deadline is January 31, 2013.
Eight adult finalists and one youth finalist will be invited to bake their winning bread recipe in Manhattan, Kansas on June 20-22, 2013.
The top winner will be awarded a cash prize of $2,000 and all-expense-paid trip to Vermont to attend a baking class at King Arthur Flour, Inc. plus a year’s supply of Fleischmann’s Yeast. In addition to this fun baking competition in the Heartland, contestants will experience a harvest tour with visits to a wheat farm, grain elevator and flour mill.
The title sponsors for the event are King Arthur Flour, Inc., Fleischmann’s Yeast and Kansas Wheat (Kansas Wheat Commission and the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers).
